

A timeline of significant milestones within the history of Nexus Risk Services:
In 1980, Patterson Wright & Associates was established in Bunbury. A change of ownership over the following years, including Mark Patterson’s purchase in 1986, saw the company change its name to Patterson & Associates.
In 1990, Patterson & Associates joined the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA). In 1994, Patterson & Associates became a member of the IBNA Group, a cluster of 70 broking firms throughout Australia providing many benefits, including unified negotiating strength. In 1995, Patterson & Associates merged with Southstate Insurance Services and became Patterson Pedler Insurance Brokers.
In 2001, expanded its operations, opening offices in Albany and Perth, as well as Geraldton in 2002. In 2003, the company was renamed Nexus Risk Services. By 2005, Nexus Risk Services had combined managed premiums of over $20,000,000, serviced by five commercial brokers.
In 2010, Nexus Life was established, offering life and superannuation solutions to Nexus Risk Services clients. In 2014, Nexus Risk Services managed premiums in excess of $70,000,000. AUB Group Ltd acquired 50% of Nexus Risk Services; a relationship forged with the individual commitment Nexus clients expect, backed with national strength. The company expanded operations to the east coast for the first time in 2017 with the establishment of a Sydney branch.
Professional Risk Services were appointed by the company as a Corprate Authorised Representative in Melbourne. Nexus Risk Services continues to expand its opportunities and client base across Australia - developing strong ongoing relationships and delivering its high-standard, client-focused service.
